STEM Subjects
STEM stands for:
Science
Technology
Engineering
Maths
and refers to all the subjects that fall under these four umbrella categories...
SCIENCE
There are three main branches of science. These are natural, social and formal.
Natural science includes: Physical sciences like physics, mechanics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, kinetics, chemistry, inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry. Life sciences like anatomy, botany, biology, zoology, neurobiology, marine biology, embryology, ecology, palaeontology, genetics, cell biology and ethology. Earth sciences like astronomy, meteorology, geology, atmospheric sciences, glaciology, climatology, structural geology.
Social science includes: anthropology, history, archaeology, human geography, economics, law, development studies, education, criminology, political science, translation studies, media studies, business and management, philosophy, health, international relations, linguistics, cultural studies, sociology, psychology.
Formal science includes: mathematics, logic, computer science, data science, statistics, systems science, artificial intelligence, information technology and so on.

Babies and toddlers are natural-born scientists. Whether rolling a ball down a slope, stacking blocks and knocking them over, placing toys in a container, group and matching objects into categories, stacking rings according to size, stringing large beads, or throwing their stuffies, STEM Babies are always experimenting with something new. This adorable board book introduces little scientists to the foundations of science and encourages young ones to play and be curious about the world around them.
With full-color photographs of babies and toddlers playing, discovering, and inventing, STEM Baby: Science encourages curious young scientists and their parents to tinker and explore the world like a scientist!
CELEBRATE STEM SKILLS: Showcases babies’ and toddlers’ natural curiosity and age-level proficiency at science skills like studying and testing!
BABIES LOVE TO LOOK AT BABIES: Filled with adorable full-color photos of babies engaging in fun, familiar STEM activities!
STURDY BOARD BOOK: Will stand up to years of reading, looking, laughing, and page turning (and even chewing) at home or on the go!
COLLECT THEM ALL: Complete the series with STEM BABY: Technology, STEM BABY: Math, and STEM BABY: Engineering.
Babies and toddlers are curious and ready to learn! Introduce them to science words that go beyond the basics.

A brand-new board book series with simple explanations of complex ideas for your future genius!
It only takes a small spark to ignite a child's mind! The ABCs of Science introduces babies (and grownups!) to a new scientific abbreviation for every letter of the alphabet—from alpha and beta to gamma and more. With a tongue-in-cheek approach that adults will love, this installment of the Baby University board book series is the perfect way to introduce basic concepts to even the youngest scientists.
Science is sorted, technology is untangled, and engineering is explained with this incredible visual guide for children.
In our modern world dominated by science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM), now is the time to make tricky topics and challenging concepts completely crystal clear.??
From tiny atoms and minute microchips to monster tractors and jumbo jets, this brilliant book comes packed with eye-catching illustrations to showcase science and technology in action today. You'll see whizzing waves, zooming rockets, and mighty magnets on this epic journey of discovery. Jump in the basket to see how a hot-air balloon rises, scale a mountaintop to see the impact of erosion, and venture inside Earth to reveal its multi-layered structure. Dramatic visuals, concise explanations, and step-by-step graphics keep young readers engaged and entertained from start to finish. ??
Hands-on projects are included to put learning into practise. Imagine making old coins shine bright with vinegar or triggering a volcanic eruption with baking soda. Impress your friends and family with these experiments and much, much more at home or at school.
??This essential homework helper covers the core curriculum of school science and supports STEM education initiatives.
Budding scientists and engineers, the future starts here!
Do you know your Algorithms from your Brownian motion? How about your Coprolites?
Discover these words and more in this illustrated STEM encyclopedia!
Organised in alphabetical order and each term beautifully illustrated with humour and charm, these 100 essential concepts will fascinate scientifically minded young readers, from those ABCs all the way down to X-rays, the terrifying Yangchuanosaurus and even the true definition of Zero! There is a contents list at the front and a full index at the back, plenty of extra words and definitions…plus mind-boggling facts too.
NATURAL SCIENCE
DEADLY SCIENCE:
Have you ever wondered what the stars can tell us? Did you know the seasons can be predicted just by looking at subtle changes in nature? Maybe you have wondered about the origins of glue or if forensic science is possible without a crime scene investigation. Australia's First peoples have the longest continuing culture on Earth and their innovation will amaze you as you leaf through the pages of this book, learning fascinating facts and discovering the answers to life's questions.
In consultation with communities, Corey tells us of many deadly feats – from bush medicine to bush trackers – that are today considered 'science', and introduces us to many amazing scientists, both past and present. The breadth of ‘sciences’ is incredible with six main chapters covering astronomy, engineering, forensic science, chemistry, land management and ecology. The first scientists passed on the lessons of the land, sea and sky to the future scientists of today through stories, song and dance, and many of these lessons are now shared in this book.
Vibrant illustrations by Blak Douglas bring the subjects to life, so you’ll never think about science as just people in lab coats ever again!
